There are several steps in order to have all the paper work completed. Listed below are the steps and requirements needed by the Province of Alberta, Town of Canmore & the RCMP.

Following Items Required for Position
- Live in the Canmore & Banff Area
- Bylaw of Canmore Taxi License
- Class 4 Alberta License
- Medical Certificate for License
- RCMP Criminal Check for Bylaw with clean record for 5 years.
- Cell Phone with Phone Number, Voxer App, Google Maps, Ear Piece for hands free driving & squareup account.
- Safe Past Driving Record - Driver's Abstract may be required.
- Be willing to be ok with long drives up to 10 hours
- Capable of driving in all road conditions with care & caution for vehicles being used.
- Contract Agreement accepted & agreed after reviewing.

Steps Needed to Complete Class 4 License
- Step 1. Medical Test form - $150 to $200 Range, based on your Doctor. Application form pdf to download. Make Appointment ASAP as most Doctor's have few immediate times available.
- Step 2. Written / Computer test at Transportation Registry Office. Visit Alberta Motor Association site for Driver Education. Also download the AMA Driver Education Learner's License Practice to sharpen your knowledge. Also read the Alberta's Commercial Driver's Guide.
- Step 3. Get Criminal Record & Vulnerablity Sector Check $35 No. criminal code convictions for 5 years prior to Date of Application. No criminal Charges outstanding before the courts. This takes mins 7 Days.
- Step 4. Road Test Booking $135 - $170 depending on Registry. Complete a Road Test by Certified Registry of Alberta. Plan ahead as certain Registries have very few time available. Successful Pass will get you your New Class 4 License
- Step 5. Canmore By Law Appointment with all your Above Documents to get your Taxi License from the Town of Canmore. $50.00 Call ahead and book appointment as the Office books at least a week out and only does Taxi License Issues one day a week. Currently that day is Thursday.
